Many families come to us looking for hypoallergenic puppies. The honest answer is that no dog is completely allergen-free, because allergens come from dander and saliva as well as hair. What does help is a coat that sheds very little, so less of it ends up on your couch, clothes, and floors.
The breeds in this collection have hair-type coats that shed very little: Poodles, Maltese, Shih Tzus, Yorkies, Havanese, Bichon Frise, Coton de Tulear, Miniature Schnauzers, and many of their mixes, like the Maltipoo, Shih Poo, Morkie, and Shichon.
If someone in your home has allergies, spend time with the breed before you decide, and talk with your doctor. A puppy’s coat also changes as it grows, so meeting adult dogs of the breed can tell you more than a short visit with a puppy.
Low-shedding coats keep growing, so they need regular brushing and a professional groom every six to eight weeks. Every puppy comes from a trusted local Georgia breeder, spends time in our family home nursery, and gets a complete health check from our on-staff veterinarian.

Frequently asked questions
Are any puppies truly hypoallergenic?
No dog is 100 percent allergen-free. Low-shedding breeds leave less hair around the house, but they still produce dander and saliva.
Do all Poodle mixes shed less?
Not always. When both parents have low-shedding coats, the puppy usually will too. Mixes with a shedding parent, like Cavapoos and Cockapoos, can vary.
Do low-shedding dogs need more grooming?
Usually, yes. Their hair keeps growing instead of falling out, so plan on regular brushing and a professional groom every six to eight weeks.
Can I visit to see how my allergies react?
Yes, and we encourage it. Keep in mind that a puppy’s coat changes as it matures, so your reaction to a young puppy is only part of the picture.
