Temperament & Grooming Needs

The Cavalier King Charles Spaniel was bred with companionship in mind. You will love your Cavalier’s devoted attention and playful personality! Cavaliers are notably wonderful with children – they are trusting and peaceful, and love the playfulness of children. Cavaliers are gentle, steady companions and instead shower happiness and affection on their people. If you’re a first-time dog owner, definitely consider a Cavalier! Their intelligence and devotion make them fairly easy to train, which is ideal for new dog owners.

To maintain their coat, brush them thoroughly every week. Wash mud or dirt away with a soft, damp cloth between baths. Expect to bathe your Cavalier routinely as needed, and take them to a groomer for a trim if that is your preference. While a Cavalier does shed in the spring and fall, it is very light shedding and may not even be noticed!
