From Main Street in Tucker, our showroom at 1848 Old Norcross Rd in Lawrenceville is about 13 to 15 miles northeast, or roughly 25 to 35 minutes without traffic. It is a real, staffed showroom you can walk into, where every puppy has been checked by our veterinarian and you can meet the puppy before you decide.
Getting here from Tucker
There are two sensible ways to come, and they suit different moods.
Lawrenceville Highway, no interstate
From downtown Tucker, take LaVista Road to Lawrenceville Highway (US-29) and turn left, heading northeast. Stay on US-29 for about nine miles, through Lilburn, then turn left on Bethesda School Road. It becomes Herrington Road; turn right on Old Norcross Road and follow it to the showroom. That is about 13 miles, all surface streets, with plenty of traffic lights.
Interstate, by way of I-85
Take Chamblee Tucker Road and Tucker Norcross Road north to Jimmy Carter Boulevard, then get on I-85 North. Take exit 106 to GA-316 East toward Lawrenceville, exit at Sugarloaf Parkway, and take Cruse Road to Old Norcross Road. It is about 15 miles, a little longer, but most of it is highway.
Which one, and when
Without traffic, both routes take about 25 to 35 minutes. At rush hour, I-85 through Gwinnett slows badly, and Lawrenceville Highway gets heavy around Lilburn and at the bigger intersections. If you can, come on a weekday soon after we open at noon. Saturday hours are 12 to 7 PM and Sunday 2 to 6 PM.
Buy where you can walk in
Tucker has been paying attention to how puppies get sold. Georgia law already bans selling dogs, cats and domestic rabbits in public places such as roadsides and parking lots, and in September 2026 Tucker’s city council approved its own ordinance so city code enforcement can act on these transient pet sales inside city limits. The concern is simple: when a puppy is handed over from a car trunk, nobody can tell you where it came from.
Whoever you buy from, a few things are worth insisting on:
- A fixed address with regular hours. You should be able to come back next week and find the same people. Our showroom is open every day of the week, and walk-ins are welcome during hours.
- See the puppy, in person, before money changes hands. Not a photo, not a video call. Here you meet the puppy and can ask anything.
- A veterinarian has looked at the puppy. Our on-staff veterinarian gives every puppy a complete health check, and puppies are up to date on shots. More on that in vet-supervised puppy buying.
- Know where the puppy has been living. Ours come from trusted local Georgia breeders and spend time in our family’s home nursery, socialized with children, adults and other pets, before joining the showroom.

Bringing a puppy home to Tucker
DeKalb County requirements
Tucker is in DeKalb County. DeKalb Animal Services says dogs must be vaccinated against rabies as required by law, owners must keep proof of vaccination, and pets should be contained or leashed rather than left to roam. The county also requires pet registration, due within 60 days of a rabies vaccination or of getting a new pet that needs one. Proof of a current rabies vaccination from a licensed veterinarian is required to register. Ask your vet when your puppy’s rabies shot is due, and put the registration date on the calendar.
Leashes and dog parks in Tucker
The City of Tucker asks everyone to keep dogs leashed in city parks, and has backed that up with its “Lead the Pack” leash pledge. The reasoning is fair: not everyone on the trail is comfortable around dogs, and the parks have wildlife.
For off-leash time later on, the city added a dog park at Rosenfeld Park, 2088 Glacier Drive, near the pool. City officials have also pointed to an off-leash area near the lake at Henderson Park, a large park whose east side has walking trails and a waterfall on the White Trail. Those trails make a nice leashed walk once your puppy is ready.
Wait for your veterinarian’s OK on vaccinations before you take a young puppy to either dog park, or anywhere many dogs gather.
What to know before you visit
