From downtown Sugar Hill, our Lawrenceville showroom is roughly 14 miles to the southeast, usually 25 to 35 minutes in light traffic by way of Peachtree Industrial Boulevard and I-85. That is short enough to stop in on a weekday afternoon, hold a few puppies, and talk with our team before you decide anything.
Getting here from Sugar Hill
Most drives from Sugar Hill start the same way: get down to Peachtree Industrial Boulevard, then cut over to I-85 south. Which connector you use depends on where in town you live.
| Starting near | Suggested route | About how far |
|---|---|---|
| Downtown, around West Broad St and The Bowl | Peachtree Industrial Blvd south, Suwanee Dam Rd, Lawrenceville-Suwanee Rd (GA-317) to I-85 south, then Sugarloaf Pkwy | 14 miles |
| North side, near Cumming Hwy (GA-20) | GA-20 east to I-85 south at Buford, then Sugarloaf Pkwy | a few miles longer |
Once you leave I-85 at Sugarloaf Parkway, follow it southeast toward Hwy 316, then turn onto Cruse Road and finish on Old Norcross Road. The showroom is at 1848 Old Norcross Rd, Lawrenceville, GA 30044.
Mapping tools put the trip at a little over 20 minutes when roads are empty, but plan on 25 to 35. The slow spot is usually I-85 south through Suwanee and Duluth, which can back up for miles in the morning and again from mid-afternoon into the evening. Peachtree Industrial and GA-317 get busy around school drop-off and pickup as well.
Our doors open at noon Monday through Saturday, and early afternoon is the easiest time to drive from Sugar Hill. A visit fits neatly between school runs.
A short drive that lets you meet the puppy first
Living this close means you don’t have to buy from a picture. Sit on the floor with a puppy for a few minutes and you learn things no listing can tell you: whether it settles in your arms, how it reacts when your kids get excited, and whether its energy matches your household.
Our puppies are small purebred and designer breeds from trusted local Georgia breeders. Each one spends time in our family’s home nursery before coming to the showroom, so it has already been handled by children and adults and has met other pets. Our on-staff veterinarian gives every puppy a complete health check, and shots are kept up to date. You can ask about any of that face to face.
If your family has young children or this is your first dog, our guides to family-friendly puppies and breeds for first-time owners are good reading before you come. You can also look over available puppies by breed to see what is in the showroom.
Bringing a puppy home to Sugar Hill
Gwinnett rules, and why to learn them early
Sugar Hill is in Gwinnett County, and Gwinnett’s animal ordinance requires owners to keep a dog under restraint or control. One detail surprises people: the county says its officers do not have to give a warning before issuing a citation. So it is worth getting the leash habit right from your puppy’s very first walk instead of assuming you’ll get a reminder.
Gwinnett also requires a current rabies tag for every dog. Your veterinarian will tell you when your puppy is old enough for its rabies shot. The county notes that it often offers discounted or free vaccinations at local events and festivals and posts upcoming dates on its social media. We go through the rest in new puppy rules in Gwinnett County.
Walking your puppy around Sugar Hill
- Sugar Hill Greenway. The city’s paved shared-use trail links downtown with neighborhoods, schools and parks. Several miles are open now, with more planned. The city welcomes pets on the Greenway, but they must be leashed, and owners are expected to pick up after them.
- Gold Mine Park (440 Level Creek Rd) is a Greenway trailhead with parking and an overlook of an old gold mine. It’s an easy place to start a short walk.
- Pirkle Park (6195 Austin Garner Rd) has 1.7 miles of paved, lighted walking trails along Richland Creek. Ask Sugar Hill Parks and Recreation about its pet rules before you go.
Whichever you pick, wait until your veterinarian says your puppy’s vaccinations are far enough along before visiting busy trails, dog parks or anywhere lots of dogs go. Until then, stick to your own yard and quiet sidewalks. More outing ideas are in dog-friendly Gwinnett puppy outings.
What to know before you visit
- No appointment needed. Walk in any time during showroom hours: Monday through Saturday 12 to 7 PM, Sunday 2 to 6 PM. You can book a visit if a set time works better for you.
- The visit happens here. We do not deliver puppies or meet anywhere off site.
- Take your puppy home today or later. Puppies go home the same day or on a pickup date we schedule with you.
- Deposits hold puppies. A puppy is held only with a deposit. Our guide to deposits, holds and pickup explains how it works.
