Our showroom at 1848 Old Norcross Rd in Lawrenceville is about 11 miles northeast of downtown Norcross, or roughly 20 to 30 minutes when the roads are clear. Come meet small-breed puppies that our veterinarian has already examined, and pick one that will happily trot beside you on a downtown sidewalk.
Getting here from Norcross
From downtown Norcross
From the South Peachtree Street area, head to Buford Highway and go north a short way to Beaver Ruin Road. Turn right, follow Beaver Ruin Road for just under two miles, then turn right on Indian Trail Lilburn Road and get on I-85 North. After about four and a half miles, take exit 106 for GA-316 East toward Lawrenceville, leave 316 at Sugarloaf Parkway, then take Cruse Road to Old Norcross Road. The whole drive is about 11 miles.
From the Jimmy Carter Blvd side
If you live south of downtown, near Jimmy Carter Boulevard, you can simply get on I-85 North there and follow the same exit 106 to GA-316 East, Sugarloaf Parkway and Cruse Road.
Timing it
With light traffic, plan on 20 to 30 minutes. Be honest with yourself about rush hour, though: the I-85 stretch between Norcross and Hwy 316 carries heavy commuter traffic, and Beaver Ruin Road and the Indian Trail interchange back up too. We open at noon on weekdays, and an early-afternoon visit usually misses the worst of it. Weekend hours are Saturday 12 to 7 PM and Sunday 2 to 6 PM.
A small dog for a walkable town
Norcross is one of the few places in Gwinnett where people really walk: to dinner on South Peachtree, to an event at Thrasher Park, around the shady paths in the small city parks. A small, people-loving dog fits that kind of life, and the best way to find one is to watch puppies move, play and settle down in front of you.
- See the real size. Photos make a five-pound puppy and a fifteen-pound puppy look the same. In the showroom, you can hold them. If you are in an apartment or a townhome, our apartment-friendly puppies page is a useful starting point.
- Raised around people first. Every puppy spends time in our family’s home nursery, getting used to children, adults and other pets, before it joins the showroom.
- Checked by a veterinarian. Our on-staff vet gives each puppy a complete health check, and puppies are up to date on shots.
- Coat questions answered in person. If shedding matters in your home, ask us about low-shedding breeds. Keep in mind that no dog is truly hypoallergenic.
Our puppies are small purebred and designer breeds from trusted local Georgia breeders. You can look through available puppies by breed before you drive over.
Bringing a puppy home to Norcross
Gwinnett County rules that surprise new owners
Norcross is in Gwinnett County. A few county rules matter right away with a new puppy:
- Rabies tag. Gwinnett requires a current rabies tag for every dog and cat. Your veterinarian will tell you when your puppy’s rabies shot is due.
- Restraint or control. The county ordinance makes it unlawful to fail to keep a dog under restraint or control.
- No tying a young puppy out in the yard. Gwinnett generally prohibits outdoor tethering. It is allowed only under a strict list of conditions, and one of them is that the dog is at least six months old. Another is that an adult stays outside with the dog the whole time. For a new puppy, plan on a fenced area or a leash in your hand.
Our guide to new puppy rules in Gwinnett County covers more.
Norcross parks and a nearby dog park
The City of Norcross keeps a string of small parks close to downtown, including Thrasher Park, Betty Mauldin Park, home to the largest American elm in Georgia, and Lillian Webb Park, which has a children’s splash pad that closes from November through April. City parks are open 8 AM to 10 PM unless posted otherwise. They are pleasant spots for a short leashed stroll once your puppy is ready.
For off-leash play later on, the closest county option is Graves Park at 1540 Graves Road, a 70-acre Gwinnett County park with a dog park area and a 1.25-mile paved trail. In Gwinnett County parks, pets must be leashed everywhere except designated dog park areas, pets are not allowed in playground areas, and only service animals are allowed on splash pads. Dogs in the dog park must wear a current rabies tag. If you are visiting with the kids, that means the dog waits outside the playground.
Whichever park you choose, wait for your veterinarian’s OK on vaccinations before taking a young puppy to a dog park or anywhere lots of dogs visit.

Common questions
How far is your showroom from downtown Norcross?
About 11 miles. Expect roughly 20 to 30 minutes with light traffic, mostly on Beaver Ruin Road and I-85 North, and longer during rush hour.
Can I tie my new puppy out in the backyard?
Not in Gwinnett County. Outdoor tethering is generally prohibited, and the narrow exceptions require the dog to be at least six months old and an adult to stay outside with it.
Where can my puppy run off leash near Norcross?
Graves Park on Graves Road has a Gwinnett County dog park area. Wait until your veterinarian says your puppy’s vaccinations are complete enough for places many dogs visit.
Can we walk our puppy around downtown Norcross?
Once your vet gives the OK, a leashed walk is a great way to get a small puppy used to people and sounds. Keep early outings short and calm.
Do you deliver to Norcross?
No. Every puppy goes home from our Lawrenceville showroom, either the same day or on a pickup date you schedule.
