Our showroom is on Old Norcross Rd in Lawrenceville, about 34 miles from the Marietta Square, which is roughly 45 minutes to an hour without traffic and a good deal longer at rush hour. It is a real drive, so plan it as an afternoon: you meet small-breed puppies in person, see the vet-checked, home-raised puppies we have that day, and leave with answers instead of guesses.
Getting here from Marietta
We will be straight with you: from Cobb County, this trip crosses the top end of the Perimeter, and that one stretch decides how long your drive takes.
From the Marietta Square
- Head to I-75 South (South Marietta Pkwy is the usual way on).
- Take I-285 East across the top of the Perimeter.
- Take I-85 North toward Gwinnett.
- At exit 106, stay right onto GA-316 East (University Pkwy), then exit at Sugarloaf Pkwy.
- From Sugarloaf Pkwy, Cruse Rd takes you to Old Norcross Rd and the showroom.
That is about 34 miles. With clear roads, expect roughly 45 minutes to an hour.
From East Cobb
From the Johnson Ferry Rd area, most drivers take Johnson Ferry Rd and Abernathy Rd over to GA-400, drop south to I-285 East, then follow the same I-85 North and GA-316 route. It is a few miles shorter, around 28 miles, and usually 40 to 50 minutes without traffic.
Timing is everything on this route
I-285 across the north side and I-85 heading into Gwinnett are two of the busiest roads in Metro Atlanta. During the morning and evening commute, the same trip can take far longer than the numbers above. Our showroom opens at noon on weekdays, and a visit between about noon and 3 PM usually lets you miss both rush hours. Saturdays (noon to 7 PM) and Sundays (2 to 6 PM) are another good option if your weekday schedule is tight.
Is the drive from Cobb worth it?
Here is what you get by coming instead of choosing from a photo:
- You see the actual puppy. How a puppy moves, how it reacts to your kids, whether it settles in your lap: none of that comes through in a listing. Our guide to avoiding small-breed puppy scams explains why meeting in person matters so much.
- A veterinarian has already examined every puppy. Our on-staff vet gives each puppy a complete health check, and puppies are up to date on shots for their age.
- Puppies start in a home. Every puppy spends time in our family’s home nursery first, around children, adults and other pets, before it joins the showroom.
- No appointment needed. If traffic clears up and you decide to head over on a whim, just come. Booking a visit is offered but never required.
Before you get in the car, look through our puppies by breed so you know what interests you. If the breed you want is not in the showroom right now, our puppy waitlist means you do not have to keep making the drive just to check.
Bringing a puppy home to Marietta
Cobb County rules worth knowing
Cobb County’s animal ordinance is stricter than many new owners expect, so it is worth reading before your puppy comes home:
- Six-foot leash off your property. Away from home, dogs must be on a leash, chain or tie no longer than six feet, held by someone able to control the dog.
- Voice control does not count. The ordinance says so directly, even for a small, well-behaved dog.
- Apartment and condo common areas are not “your premises.” If you live in an apartment or condo, the hallway, courtyard and shared lawn all count as public space, so your puppy needs a leash there too. Our apartment-friendly puppies page covers breeds that suit smaller homes.
- Rabies vaccination and tag. Cobb County requires rabies vaccination, with a tag, for dogs, cats and ferrets. Your veterinarian will tell you when your puppy is old enough for this shot.
The city of Marietta also has its own parks rules, including posted rules at its off-leash areas, so read the signs before your first visit.
Places to walk and play once your vet says yes
- Lewis Park (Campbell Hill St., near downtown Marietta) has a fenced off-leash area with a separate enclosure for dogs under 30 pounds, which is where a small breed belongs.
- Sweat Mountain Park (Steinhauer Rd, East Cobb) is a Cobb County park with off-leash enclosures split by size, with shade and benches.
- Kennesaw Mountain National Battlefield Park allows dogs on its trails on a handheld leash no longer than six feet, but not inside the Visitor Center.
Please wait for your veterinarian’s OK on vaccinations before taking a young puppy to a dog park, a busy trailhead or anywhere many dogs visit.
What to know before you visit
- Walk in any time during showroom hours: Monday to Saturday 12 to 7 PM, Sunday 2 to 6 PM. Booking is optional.

- We do not deliver or meet anywhere else. Every puppy goes home from the showroom.
- Holds require a deposit. See how deposits, holds and pickup work.
