From downtown Buford, our Lawrenceville showroom is about 15 miles south, usually 20 to 30 minutes by I-985 and I-85 when traffic is light. That is close enough to come once just to meet the puppies, then come back on pickup day.
Getting here from Buford
Buford is one of the shorter drives to our showroom at 1848 Old Norcross Rd, Lawrenceville, GA 30044. We sit just off Sugarloaf Parkway near its interchange with Hwy 316, reached by turning onto Cruse Road and then Old Norcross Road.
The interstate way
From downtown Buford, take Buford Drive (GA-20) to I-985 south, stay on as it becomes I-85 south, and exit for Sugarloaf Parkway. Follow Sugarloaf Parkway toward Lawrenceville to Cruse Road, then Old Norcross Road. It is about 14 to 15 miles and roughly 20 to 30 minutes without heavy traffic.
The surface-road way
If I-85 is backed up, Buford Drive (GA-20) runs south toward Lawrenceville. Take it to Hwy 316 west, exit at Sugarloaf Parkway, and you are a few turns away. Expect about 16 miles and around 30 minutes, more with lights.
I-85 through Gwinnett gets heavy on weekday mornings and late afternoons, and a backup there can easily double the drive. A weekday visit soon after we open at noon, or a Saturday afternoon, is often the calmest time to make the trip.
Meet first, decide at home
Because the drive from Buford is short, you do not have to make a big decision on your first visit. Walk in, sit on the floor, and watch how a few puppies react to you and your family. Then go home and talk it over.
When you are ready, puppies can go home the same day or on a later pickup date that we schedule together. If you want us to set one aside while you get your house ready, a deposit holds that puppy. Our page on deposits, holds and pickup walks through it, and when puppies can go home explains the timing.
What you see in the showroom is the result of real care before a puppy ever arrives. Our puppies are small purebred and designer breeds from trusted local Georgia breeders. Each one lives in our family’s home nursery first, getting used to children, adults and other pets, and our on-staff veterinarian gives each one a complete health check. They are up to date on shots when you meet them.

Bringing a puppy home to Buford
The City of Buford sits in both Gwinnett County and Hall County, so the rules that apply to you depend on which side of the line your home is on. If you are in the Gwinnett part of town, here is what Gwinnett County requires:
- Rabies tag. Gwinnett requires a current rabies tag for all dogs and cats.
- Restraint. Under the county ordinance, owners must keep their dog under restraint or control.
- Tethering limits. A dog can be tethered outdoors only under specific conditions, including being at least six months old with the owner outside, so a young puppy should not be tied out.
If your home is on the Hall County side, or inside Buford city limits, check with Hall County or the City of Buford for local rules. Our guide to new puppy rules in Gwinnett County goes into more detail.
For outings, Gwinnett County parks allow leashed pets, except at playgrounds and splash pads. Bogan Park at 2723 North Bogan Road in Buford has about two miles of paved and unpaved trails, a good place for short, calm leash walks once your puppy is ready. Gwinnett’s dog parks require a current rabies tag, allow no more than two dogs per owner, and keep out dogs that are sick or in heat. For more ideas, see dog-friendly Gwinnett puppy outings.
Before any of that, wait for your veterinarian’s OK on vaccinations before taking a young puppy to a dog park, a busy trail or anywhere lots of dogs gather.
