Our showroom is at 1848 Old Norcross Rd in Lawrenceville, about 28 miles northeast of downtown Atlanta, almost all of it on I-85 North and Hwy 316. Without traffic the drive is roughly 35 to 45 minutes. When you get here, you can meet small-breed puppies in person, ask our team anything, and take your puppy home the same day if the fit is right.
Getting here from Atlanta
From almost anywhere inside the Perimeter, the trip is one long, simple line: get on I-85 North, stay on it past I-285, take exit 106 for GA-316 East toward Lawrenceville, then exit at Sugarloaf Parkway. From there it is a couple of turns, Sugarloaf Parkway to Cruse Road to Old Norcross Road. Your map app will handle the last mile.
| Starting point | Main route | Distance | Without traffic |
|---|---|---|---|
| Downtown | Downtown Connector (I-75/85) north, then I-85 North and GA-316 East | About 28 miles | About 35–45 min |
| Midtown | Buford-Spring Connector (GA-13) to I-85 North, then GA-316 East | About 25 miles | About 35–40 min |
| Buckhead | Piedmont Rd and Lenox Rd to I-85 North, then GA-316 East | About 24 miles | About 30–40 min |
Now the honest part. Those times assume an open road, and I-85 through northeast Atlanta is rarely open at rush hour. The route crosses the I-85/I-285 interchange known as Spaghetti Junction, which ranks among the worst truck bottlenecks in the country. On a weekday afternoon the same drive can easily take an hour or more.
The easy fix is timing. The showroom opens at noon on weekdays, and a late-morning start from Midtown or Buckhead usually puts you on I-85 between the two rush hours. Saturday afternoons are another good window.
Why make the drive from the city
Atlanta has no shortage of puppy listings online. What a photo cannot tell you is how a puppy acts when your partner picks it up, or whether it settles in your lap or wants to wrestle. Coming in lets you see that for yourself before you decide.
A few things you can count on when you walk in:
- Small breeds only. We focus on small purebred and designer-breed puppies from trusted local Georgia breeders, the size that tends to suit city homes.
- A home start. Every puppy spends time in our family’s home nursery before joining the showroom, getting used to children, adults and other pets.
- A vet check. Our on-staff veterinarian gives every puppy a complete health check, and puppies are up to date on shots.
- No appointment needed. Walk in any time we are open, or book a visit if you would rather have a set time.
If you live in an apartment or condo, our guide to apartment-friendly puppies is a good place to start, and toy breeds covers the smallest companions. It is also worth reading how to avoid small-breed puppy scams, since meeting a puppy in person is one of the simplest protections there is.
Bringing a puppy home to Atlanta
City life with a small dog works well, but it comes with a few rules worth knowing before your first walk.
Leash rules in city parks
The City of Atlanta requires dogs to be leashed in city parks, trails and public spaces unless they are inside a designated dog park, and owners must pick up after their pets. Atlanta Police can cite owners whose dogs are off leash outside a dog park.
Licensing and rabies
Atlanta sits in two counties. Fulton County’s animal ordinance requires owners to license their dogs and cats, and the application asks for a copy of your pet’s rabies vaccination certificate. If your home is in the DeKalb County part of the city, DeKalb asks owners to register pets that have a current rabies vaccination given by a licensed veterinarian. Either way, your vet will set the rabies schedule, so keep that certificate somewhere easy to find.
City dog parks, when your puppy is ready
The city runs several off-leash dog parks, including the ones at Piedmont Park in Midtown, Renaissance Park on Piedmont Avenue, and Freedom Barkway on Highland Avenue. Their rules say dogs must wear a collar with an ID tag, must be licensed and current on vaccinations, and that puppies under 16 weeks are not allowed.
Even after that age, wait for your veterinarian’s OK on vaccinations before taking a young puppy to a dog park or anywhere lots of dogs visit. Until then, short leashed walks on quiet streets and plenty of play at home do the job.
For the first days at home, see how to prepare your home and keeping a small dog cool in Georgia heat, which matters on hot city sidewalks.
What to know before you visit
- Walk-ins are welcome during showroom hours, Monday through Saturday 12–7 PM and Sunday 2–6 PM. Booking a visit is optional.
- Your puppy can go home the same day, or you can schedule a later pickup date.
- We do not deliver or meet off site, so the visit happens at the showroom.
- A puppy is held only with a deposit. The details are in our guide to deposits, holds and pickup.

Common questions
How long is the drive from downtown Atlanta to the showroom?
It is about 28 miles, mostly on I-85 North and Hwy 316. Plan on roughly 35 to 45 minutes without traffic, and an hour or more at weekday rush hour.
What is the best time to drive up from Atlanta?
Weekday late morning, so you arrive soon after we open at noon, or a Saturday afternoon. Those times usually miss the worst of I-85.
Can I take my puppy to Piedmont Park right away?
Not to the dog park. City rules do not allow puppies under 16 weeks in off-leash dog parks, and your veterinarian should OK vaccinations first in any case. Leashed walks elsewhere in the park are a different matter, but check with your vet before taking a young puppy where lots of dogs go.
Will you bring a puppy to me in the city?
No. We do not deliver or meet off site. You come to the showroom, and your puppy goes home with you that day or on a pickup date you schedule.
Do I need an appointment?
No. Walk in any time during showroom hours. You can book a visit if you would like a set time.
